A few things documented through the eye of a camera in 2007
5-18-07 This mess was once a nice little pond
Still on the day of reminiscing I went back to my old house and walked through the woods I grew up playing in. In the winter, ice would form over a small pond and the water that filled a massive part of the ground like a swamp, but with clear water and not clouded, would freeze over and we could ice-skate or play ice hockey on. In 1998 before I moved away I spent a day, put on waders, got into water up to my thighs, and cleaned out big rocks, sticks, leaves, pipes people tossed in, and other garbage. I cleaned the crap out of this pond so when I leave the children of the next generation could enjoy the woods as much as me, my friends, and family did. However, look at this picture. As people toss their grass clippings and other garbage they filled this pond to crate this little puddle of shit. Another example of how children will never know what they are missing because they will never know they lost it. Also, with technology and games, many kids would be indoors anyways and could care less about the outside world.
